The Workforce Institute of Lorain County (WFI), a private non-profit organization, operates Lorain County’s One Stop system (Employment netWork) and the WIA (Workforce Investment Act) Adult and Dislocated Worker Programs via a contract with the Lorain County Workforce Development Agency. WFI is seeking qualified applicants for openings for the Employment netWork for the positions described below to continue the highly successful Stimulate Your Career model for delivering One Stop Services. : Oversees and manages the day-to-day operation of the Employment netWork One-Stop System and reports to WFI Director. Responsible for monitoring and assisting One-Stop staff in the performing of all services at all three locations in accordance with policies and procedures and following the OneFlow protocols established for each customer and service type.
Bachelor’s Degree (Masters preferred) and 5 years of work experience with a local one stop system or workforce development agency/system to include 5 years management experience at the mid to senior level of leadership/responsibility.Career Practitioner
: Provides career guidance to AD/DW customers and assists and approves in the development of an education/training and employment plan for WIA enrollees. Plays critical role in Stimulate Your Career services as customers decide how to prepare themselves to achieve the goal of employment or education. Assists with determination of WIA eligibility and need for intensive and supportive services. Bachelor’s Degree in Business, Adult education or a related discipline; experience with career guidance, coaching, working with dislocated workers or other diverse populations and familiarity with WIA/One-Stop Operations, is preferred. Adult Transitions Specialist
: Assist clients with eligibility determination for intensive and training support, financial services and in obtaining appropriate referrals. Advise clients on education and training options and works to reduce barriers and increase client success through the use of increased retention efforts. Acts as liaison between client and training providers works; with training providers on compliance reporting and assisting clients enrolled at their institution. Associate’s Degree, (Bachelor’s preferred), familiarity with WIA and One-Stop Operations and community resources preferred. Employment/Job Specialist
: Assist clients with resources to attain gainful employment. Assist the client to develop an employment plan that emphasizes skill development, gainful employment, and retention. Support a client’s access to professional development services to prepare them for the job search, as well as provide access to information systems and pre-qualification services for specific job openings and successful transition with the workforce. Be available to meet with customers at all locations. Associates Degree, (Bachelor’s preferred), formal training and working knowledge of job posting sources, data on projected job openings, resources available to clients for preparing for and finding employment. Experience in human resources or working with adults seeking employment.Business Liaison
: Support the netWork’s employer engagement to determine how to assist them with hiring or training needs, and to assist in preparing service plans for employers. Work with the Business Connection program to engage with employers and use Executive Pulse as Customer Relations Management (CRM) for maintaining records of services to individual businesses. Track progress, completion and satisfaction with services provided employers and assist in preparation of timely reports. Bachelor's degree, (Master’s preferred), in Business, Business Management, Marketing or related field. Work experience in business outreach, gaining understanding of their needs and helping to design a service plan for them. Experience working on a business services team at a One Stop or economic development organization preferred. Performance Tracking Specialist
: Primary responsibility is data manager of Empyra, working directly with Empyra and staff of One-Stop System to maintain accurate and current tracking systems of performance and outcomes for all customers, and to implement system improvements and to produce timely reports from OneFlow upon requests from Manager. Associates Degree, (Bachelor’s preferred) and minimum of 3 years experience working in database management and reporting. Familiarity with WIA and One-Stop Operations and community resources preferred. Experience in data interpretation and problem solving skills are essential. Knowledge of SCOTI and Empyra’s One Flow system is highly preferred.
